About Curtis
Horticulture
Curtis Horticulture employs a small staff of enthusiastic,
dedicated professionals who have a common interest in horticulture and
providing quality landscape services.
Stephanie Curtis - Owner / Horticulturist
Stephanie's early passion for gardening and the environment led to her formal
study of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture. Prior
to starting Curtis Horticulture, she worked as a Project Manager for
commercial landscape installation and as a Maintenance Supervisor for
specialty residential maintenance. She enjoys working outdoors and
promoting
landscape practices that are based on ecological principles. Stephanie
has a BS in Environmental Horticulture from UC Davis and has completed the Landscape Architecture program at UC Berkeley Extension.
She is an ISA Certified Arborist and a licensed C-27 landscape
contractor.
Gail - Lead Gardener / Horticulturist
Gail has an AS in Horticulture from Temple University in Pennsylvania and is a lifelong gardener, having cared
for a large perennial garden on the East coast. In addition to her work at Curtis Horticulture, she has worked in nurseries troubleshooting plant pests and diseases
and caring for container plantings.
Geoff - Gardener / Horticulturist
Geoff is in his second year with the company and has worked with the Stanford grounds
department and is an avid student of horticulture. He is pursuing an AS in
Environmental Horticulture from Foothill College.
Ingrid - Lead Gardener / Horticulturist
Ingrid is an experienced gardener who began
working at Curtis Horticulture in 2006. She has also worked with the Stanford
grounds department, Yerba Buena Nursery, and has attended horticulture classes
at Foothill College. She has extensive knowledge of California native plants in
addition to the pruning and care of traditional plantings.
Valerie - Horticulturist / Project Assistant
Valerie has a BS in Environmental Horticulture from Cal
Poly, San Luis Obispo, with minors in Land Rehabilitation and Plant Protection
Science. In addition to her work at Curtis Horticulture, her experience
includes plant disease and pest monitoring and control. She is in the process of becoming a Certified Water Manager and actively manages the water at several properties.
Bryant - Crew Leader / Landscape Installation Technician
In addition to his work at Curtis Horticulture, Bryant has worked for several Bay Area landscape
companies and has well-rounded experience in many aspects of landscaping from garden
maintenance to all phases of landscape installation. He has attended
classes at Foothill College in Environmental Horticulture and is in the process of becoming a Certified Landscape Technician.
Ian - Landscape Installation / Irrigation Technician
Ian has many years of experience with the installation and
troubleshooting of irrigation systems, particularly with large residential
estates and golf courses. He has attended numerous irrigation seminars put on
by the Irrigation Association and irrigation manufacturers.
Luis - Landscape Worker
Luis has several years of experience in landscaping and construction, and his excellent work ethic makes him an asset to our installation team.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Spring 2010: We're currently hiring for a Gardener / Horticulturist to add to our team. If you're passionate about plants, have professional gardening experience and/or an educational background in horticulture, we'd love to hear from you!
Position is 3 days per week to start, eventually becoming full time. Full time position includes health insurance, paid time off, and educational benefits after probationary period.
